The Maine Police Emerald Society Cashman Memorial scholarship is given in honor of
Mr. Cashman who has been a long time support of law enforcement in Maine. He is
succeeded by his three sons, all of whom are serving in the law enforcement
community from municipal to federal levels.

In his memory the Maine Police Emerald Society along with the Cashman Family will
select two students to distribute annually a scholarship to one student currently in a
post-secondary education program who aspires to join the field of law enforcement
upon graduation and an expecting high school graduate who plans to move on to the
next level of education in a law enforcement related program of study. The award will
be given in the amount of $250.00 during the fall semester.
Requirements:

- A student graduating from a Maine high school or attending a        
Maine College or University.

- Must be enrolled full time in a course of study where law
enforcement is the primary focus.

- Submit all appropriate transcripts

- Include an essay no more than 500 words outlining your academic and career
goals as they pertain to law enforcement. Also include why it is that you
want to pursue a law enforcement career.
